General Dentistry
General dentistry is the foundation of long-term oral health. At Rajesh Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry, our preventive and restorative general dental services are delivered with the same clinical precision and care as our specialist treatments. Dr. Rajesh Panchineni believes strongly that early detection and conservative management prevents the need for complex, expensive interventions, saving both your teeth and your time. We are your dental home for the whole family, from first to final tooth.

Comprehensive Examination & Oral Health Assessment
Every new patient receives a thorough clinical examination covering all teeth, the gums, the bite, jaw joints (TMJ), and oral mucosal tissues. We take a full set of diagnostic X-rays and, where indicated, advanced 3D imaging for three-dimensional assessment. This baseline allows us to identify existing problems, flag areas of risk, and provide a complete, prioritised treatment plan, so you always know exactly where you stand with your oral health.
Dental X-Rays and Digital Imaging
We use digital radiography exclusively, producing high-resolution images with up to 80% less radiation than traditional film. Bitewing X-rays detect early interproximal cavities between teeth; periapical X-rays assess root health and bone levels; panoramic OPG images survey the entire mouth including wisdom teeth and jaw anatomy. All images are stored digitally and available for review at every appointment, allowing us to track changes over time.
Tooth-Coloured Composite Fillings
Cavities are still the most common dental problem we treat. We use only premium composite resin for our restorations, no silver amalgam. Composite is bonded directly to the tooth structure using micro-mechanical adhesive techniques, requiring minimal drilling compared to amalgam, while providing a restoration that is virtually invisible and highly durable. We also replace old, failing amalgam fillings for patients who prefer an aesthetic alternative.
Crowns and Bridges
When a tooth is too damaged for a filling, due to extensive decay, fracture, or post-root canal weakness, a crown (full coverage cap) is the appropriate restoration. Our crowns are metal-free: Zirconia for strength in posterior teeth, and layered ceramic for maximum aesthetics in anterior teeth. A fixed bridge uses two crowned teeth as pillars to suspend a prosthetic tooth (pontic) across a gap, a non-implant alternative for replacing a single missing tooth.
Simple and Surgical Tooth Extractions
When a tooth is beyond restoration, extraction may be necessary. Simple extractions of fully erupted teeth are quick, comfortable procedures under local anaesthesia. Surgical extractions, for broken-down stumps, impacted teeth, or roots with complex anatomy, are performed with precision using sectioning and surgical techniques that minimise trauma to the surrounding bone, preserving the site for potential future implant placement.
Wisdom Tooth Assessment and Extraction
Third molars (wisdom teeth) are a common source of recurring infection (pericoronitis), crowding, cyst formation, and damage to the adjacent second molar. All wisdom tooth presentations are assessed with OPG X-rays to evaluate position, angulation, and proximity to the inferior alveolar nerve. Simple erupted wisdom teeth are extracted in-office; complex horizontal or deeply impacted cases are managed surgically, often in a single appointment under local anaesthesia.
Dentures, Complete and Partial
For patients who have lost multiple or all teeth and are not candidates for implants, conventional dentures remain a valuable restorative option. We fabricate complete dentures (replacing an entire arch) and removable partial dentures (replacing several missing teeth using clasps on remaining teeth) using high-quality acrylic and precision fitting techniques. For significantly improved stability, existing dentures can often be converted to implant-retained overdentures.
Oral Cancer Screening
Every routine examination at our clinic includes a systematic soft tissue inspection: the lips, cheeks, palate, tongue, floor of mouth, and pharynx are all examined for any abnormal lesions, colour changes, or textures. Oral cancer caught at an early stage has a dramatically better prognosis. Risk factors include tobacco use, alcohol, and HPV. We also use adjunctive tools including Velscope fluorescence screening for suspicious lesions.
Fissure Sealants for Adults
Deep anatomical fissures in back teeth are not limited to children, adults with pristine, unfilled molars also benefit from protective sealants, particularly if their diet or salivary chemistry puts them at elevated cavity risk. Applying sealants to sound fissures costs a fraction of what a filling costs and requires no drilling. It is one of the most cost-effective preventive investments available.
Night Guards for Bruxism
Teeth grinding (bruxism), particularly during sleep, causes enamel wear, tooth sensitivity, chipping, TMJ pain, and headaches. A custom-fabricated hard acrylic night guard provides a sacrificial surface for the grinding forces, protecting the underlying teeth. Custom guards fabricated from accurate impressions fit far better and last significantly longer than off-the-shelf alternatives, resulting in better patient compliance and superior protection.

Frequently Asked Questions
For most adults with good oral health, every 6 months. Patients with a history of periodontal disease, high cavity risk, or ongoing restorative treatment should visit every 3 months. Children benefit from 6-monthly appointments to monitor dental development and provide preventive treatments.
Modern composite resins have improved enormously and in many clinical situations are as durable as amalgam. For small to medium cavities, composite is our preferred material in virtually all cases. Heavily loaded posterior restorations may occasionally benefit from indirect ceramic inlays for superior longevity, we will discuss your options clearly.
For severe toothache, facial swelling, knocked-out or fractured teeth, or post-extraction bleeding, call our clinic immediately at +91 88619 72937. For a knocked-out permanent tooth: handle it by the crown (not the root), keep it moist (store in milk or inside your cheek), and get to us within 30–60 minutes for the best chance of successful re-implantation.
Yes. Our digital X-rays produce very low radiation doses, equivalent to a few minutes of natural background radiation exposure. We take X-rays only when clinically indicated, use the minimum number of images necessary, and always use lead aprons. The diagnostic benefit of detecting hidden cavities, bone loss, and pathology far outweighs the minuscule radiation exposure.
Yes. We routinely replace old, failing, or aesthetically concerning amalgam fillings with composite resin or ceramic restorations. The procedure involves careful rubber damming to prevent mercury vapour ingestion during removal, followed by a conservative composite restoration. We assess each filling individually and recommend replacement when the clinical case for it is genuine.
